SHALOM

ADONAI came down in a column of cloud and stood at the entrance to the tent. He summoned Aharon and Miryam, and they both went forward. He said, “Listen to what I say: when there is a prophet among you, I, ADONAI, make myself known to him in a vision, I speak with him in a dream. But it isn’t that way with my servant Moshe. He is the only one who is faithful in my entire household. With him I speak face to face and clearly, not in riddles; he sees the image of ADONAI.
Numbers 12:5-8a, Complete Jewish Bible

ENSUING THE BATTLE WITH AMALEK, EXODUS 17:8-13
ADONAI said to Moshe, “Write this in a book to be remembered, and tell it to Y’hoshua: I will completely blot out any memory of ‘Amalek from under heaven.” Moshe built an altar, called it ADONAI Nissi [ADONAI is my banner/miracle], and said, “Because their hand was against the throne of Yah, ADONAI will fight ‘Amalek generation after generation.”
Exodus 17:14-16 Complete Jewish Bible

Therefore, when ADONAI your God has given you rest from all your surrounding enemies in the land ADONAI your God is giving you as your inheritance to possess, you are to blot out all memory of ‘Amalek from under heaven. Don’t forget!
Deuteronomy 25:19 Complete Jewish Bible

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7232534343197493118.post-7849612833498591452014-09-24T17:59:23.677-04:002014-09-24T17:59:23.677-04:00I was just thinking about this on my way back from...I was just thinking about this on my way back from work yesterday. It's amazing to me that so many people can ascribe to God these dualistic tendencies which would be inexcusable in any person. Appealing to the "mystery" of God's nature for reconciliation in these matters is too often self-defeating.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
